Description

Gospel serves as the enigmatic Keeper of the Leaving Room, a pivotal space that young individuals must navigate after they pass away. Within this otherworldly realm, the complexities of youth, loss, and transition intertwine, creating a poignant backdrop for reflection and connection. As Gospel guides the souls through this ethereal journey, they confront their pasts and the unfulfilled dreams that linger.

The narrative explores themes of grief, hope, and the transformative power of acceptance, inviting readers to ponder the delicate balance between living and letting go. With vivid imagery and emotional depth, the story reveals that the path to peace often lies in understanding one's history and embracing the change beyond the grave.

It is an interesting take if there was a room in-between life and death but it was more to desired to the very least. The book was pretty much 50% when the secondary main character came into focus. It wasn't until the last 5% you really understood what was going on between the two. So it was that disconnect to me since both characters were important to the story and the situation to reason why they are in the room between worlds. If you like to cook, this book will make you hungry since there are recipes mentioned all the way through the book. All and All it's a quick read and is perfect to read right now during Black History Month.
