توضیحات

Jack McEvoy finds himself drawn deeper into the morbid world of death investigation, a realm he knows all too well as a seasoned reporter. When a recent case begins to blur the lines between journalism and personal involvement, McEvoy's relentless pursuit of the truth leads him into dark and unexpected territories. As he digs deeper, he discovers unsettling connections that force him to confront not only his professional instincts but also his own obsessions.

Amid twists and turns, McEvoy realizes that the answers he seeks may come at a dire cost. What begins as a straightforward routine investigation spirals into a gripping tale filled with intrigue, deception, and the haunting shadows of mortality. As he races against time, he must unravel a web that intertwines the art of storytelling with the chilling realities of death, forcing him to question his own motives and the ethical boundaries of his craft.

I'm reading the novels in order because I loved the Harry Bosch series. And I love these books so far. I didn't want to take a break from Bosch's character, but having the advantage of reading this series 30 years after the books were starting to be published, we know the characters reappear in future novels. This was a super easy and fast read. The beginning spooked me a bit, especially after reading Stephen King's intro. One plot is child pornography, and being sensitive to it, I dont think it was graphic. There are twists and surprises. I liked McEvoy's character. I look forward to his story continuing. This is the 5th book in the Bosch Universe and I'd say my 2nd or 3rd favorite so far. Onto book #6!!
