説明

In a bewildering world where uncertainty reigns, a young boy named Thomas awakens in an enclosed environment known as the Glade, plagued by a complete lack of memory regarding his past. Surrounded by other teenage boys who have found themselves in a similar predicament, he quickly learns that each day is a fight for survival. The Glade is bordered by colossal walls, and beyond them lies an ominous Maze that shifts during the night. Only those brave enough to venture in search of an escape can hope to uncover the secrets of their confinement.

As Thomas settles into life among the Gladers, he becomes increasingly drawn to the Maze and its ever-changing paths. With each passing day, a growing sense of urgency compels him to take risks and uncover the truth. His arrival marks the beginning of a series of events that will alter the dynamics of the Glade forever, particularly when a girl unexpectedly arrives, heralding chaotic changes.

With danger lurking around every corner and the mystery of the Maze deepening, friendships are tested and alliances formed. Thomas grapples with fear, courage, and the need to lead as the group faces deadly threats that seem more than mere trials. In a world stripped of comfort and filled with challenges, they must confront their fears and navigate the twists and turns of fate to find a way out before it's too late.

Ever since reading the Hunger Games trilogy, I have been in love with the dystopian genre. The Maze Runner seems to bring a new sense of disturbance to the dystopian genre. Living in a disease-ridden world inside a giant stone maze, ensnared by horrifying crearures is definitely a new level. Though the narrative style is definitely worth a debate, it's an action-packed novel with many twists and turns.
