A wicked queen separates Princess Elisa from her eleven brothers while they are still small children. She turns them into swans, and send Elisa to live with peasants until her fifteenth birthday. When Elisa returns to the palace, the queen cast a spell on her so that her father does not recognize her. Elisa decides to search for her brothers. Firstly she goes to the woods and then to the sea, where she will learn from the perseverance of the waves and manage not only to reunite with her family but also to reverse that has kept her apart from the brothers.
