Bekijk Allesabsolutely devoured this book, just couldn't put it down. the story was amazing and the environment was beautiful and I absolutely fell in love with the characters.
Overall just an amazing story. Kept me in my toes. Perfect enemy to lovers. Love all the different things they had to do for school. Love the way she did the dragons. Perfect heartbreak and action. Just a wondeful perfect book.
All the stars! I had pretty high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint in the slightest! So buckle up, because this may be my longest review ever. If I annotated, so much of this book would be highlighted/underlined/hearted, all the things… this is one of the first books that made me want to reach for a pen! Xaden Riorson is top tier book boyfriend material. Violet is witty, sarcastic, and strong. She proves over and over again that strength of heart and mind is just as, if not more, important than physical strength. She didn’t let her illness or all the people who doubted her slow her down or defeat her. Both of their characters and the banter and chemistry between them were amazing. This is so much more than just a dragon book. The dragons were done in such a unique way and were such interesting characters all on their own. Tairn made me laugh out loud so many times and his relationship with Violet was just as compelling as her relationship with Xaden. There’s nothing like the bond between dragon and rider. The pace of the story was perfect. You get the sense of time passing without it dragging. There’s so much tension happening on every page- from the tension of war with the training and students dying every other day to the tension between Violet and Xaden and their banter and chemistry- that you are never bored. I was hooked from the first page. The world building was intriguing and explained well enough to pull you into its world without being overly complicated or confusing. I haven’t hated having to put a book down or been so excited to hurry home and jump back in since ACOTAR. With all of that said (and I know I said a lot, kudos if you made it this far)… what is this ending?! This is why I typically don’t read series until they’re complete…. I am NOT patient! I have Iron Flame on request at the library and still have like a month at least until it’s my turn and right now that feels like torture! I don’t know how anyone stands waiting YEARS! If Book 2 ends with another cliffhanger like this, I may die. Ok, I’m done raving… this is definitely a book I could reread over and over and will be highly recommending forever. Read it.
