Known for his demanding and provocative prose, Wallace Shawn, working with long-time collaborator André Gregory, has spent nearly fifteen years adapting one of Ibsen's greatest works. A film adaptation, directed by Jonathan Demme, is set for spring 2013.

Wallace Shawn is the author of OBIE Award–winning plays Our Late Night, Aunt Dan and Lemon, and The Fever. Other works include Marie and Bruce, The Designated Mourner, and the screenplay for My Dinner with Andre, in which he also starred.
