描述

In a world rich with passion and danger, the allure of beauty can often lead to devastating consequences. The protagonist finds herself caught in the mesmerizing web of a man whose ethereal charm has captivated many, but she knows that his allure comes with its own set of risks. Navigating her feelings for him requires her to tread carefully, for falling deeply could mean losing herself in the process.

As their paths intertwine, the stakes grow higher. She grapples with the emotions that pull her toward him, yet the fear of what that connection might unleash weighs heavily on her heart. The story unfolds with a sharp tension between desire and self-preservation, illuminating the complexities of love that is as intoxicating as it is perilous.

While warfare brews between ancient myths and modern-day realities, the timeless tale of Psyche and Eros finds new life through their story. Secrets, struggles, and a dangerous dance of attraction create a scintillating narrative that leaves her questioning everything she thought she knew about love.

This captivating retelling immerses readers in an intoxicating blend of romance and mythology, inviting them to witness the exquisite highs and gut-wrenching lows of an encounter that feels both forbidden and inevitable. As she delves deeper into this precarious relationship, her journey of self-discovery takes center stage, making for a mesmerizing read that lingers long after the final page is turned.

I think I liked Electric Idol a lot more than I did Neon Gods. This book is intense with a heavy plot but there are numerous sweet moments between Eros and Psyche. In Neon Gods, I was aware of the general story (if you don't know the story of Hades and Persephone, where have you been?) but I didn't know the story of Eros and Psyche in great detail. However, I don’t think my not knowing the ins and outs of their story took away from this reading experience. All in all, I love Robert's socialite interpretation of the mythology.
