I honestly don’t even know where to start with this one…Uncomfortable. Disturbing. What did I just read?This book feels different from any other dark romance I’ve read. Even though it’s written in first person, it doesn’t feel like you’re inside the character’s head. It feels like you’re watching from the outside… like you’ve been given access to something you were never supposed to see.There is so much pain, so much injustice, and as a reader you’re completely powerless. You can’t stop it, you can’t change it—you can only keep reading and hope that somehow it gets better.I won’t spoil anything, but some scenes were genuinely shocking. The way the slaves are treated… it goes far beyond anything I expected.This is not a comfortable read. Not even close.I can recommend it—but please, read the trigger warnings. This is one of the darkest books I’ve ever read.And like the author says:this is absolutely NOT a romance.
