Love love love. My first Elizabeth Gaskell, and I almost love her way of writing more than Jane Austen’s (gasp!!!!!). This book’s pace was suuuuuper slow which made it a little hard to keep going sometimes but I love the story and characters. Except for Mr. Thornton?? He kind of sucked most of the time but when he was on, he was ON. And Edith is the literal worst. I’m glad Margaret had a come to Jesus moment and realized she needed to take control of her own life.Oh and I didn’t understand any of the politics or business talk.
