Just finished (again 😭) the Percy Jackson & the Olympians + The Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan — and MANNN this is pure childhood + chaos + comfort rolled into one ⚡📚 I have reread this an embarrassing number of times… and it STILL feels fresh. Like how?? Rick Riordan really took Greek mythology and said: “Let’s make this cool, funny, and emotionally damaging in the best way.” And Percy??? BEST. BOOK. BOYFRIEND. PERIOD. 😤💙 The sarcasm, the loyalty, the “I’ll literally fight gods for you” energy??? Unmatched. What I love most is how it balances EVERYTHING: 😂 Hilarious writing ⚔️ Insane plots and quests 🧠 Actually smart storytelling 💔 Emotional punches out of nowhere Like one minute you’re laughing… next minute you’re like: “Why am I crying over fictional demigods???” And whether it’s Percy’s story or the whole Heroes of Olympus gang — Rick delivers EVERY SINGLE TIME. No misses. Genres (aka why this slaps so hard): ⚡ Mythology × modern world fantasy 😂 Humor + sarcasm core ⚔️ Adventure / quest chaos 💙 Found family supremacy 🔥 “I will die for you” loyalty trope 🧠 Smart, layered storytelling Verdict: Comfort read, comfort series, emotional damage included free. Will reread again. No shame. Ever 😌📚
5/5 ⭐: El mejor cierre de una saga pero sigo pensando en que me dejaron con las ganas de saber más de mi chiquitito hermoso, te amo Leo Valdez DIOS MÍO
I feel like this was a little underwhelming and had one to many view points. Also that ending was cute, but not as dramatic as I'd hoped. Good on *spoiler* for doing what they did, but it still seemed slightly selfish.
