📚 : Tuesdays With Morrie
★★★★★
what would you do if after years of living the most active life, you found out that you’re quickly fading away because of a disease? i expected this book to make me think this much about my own life. i went into it knowing that it was about an old professor dyīng and reconnecting with one of his former students, but somehow, knowing the premise beforehand did not prepare me for how intimate the book would feel. this may be a book about death, but i feel more like this is a story about everything we tend to forget about living. love people. spend time with them. forgive. don’t let money or success become the only things you measure your life by. accept that deāth is inevitable. none of these ideas are particularly new, but hearing/reading them coming from someone who is slowly losing everything feels too painful and beautiful at the same time. for someone dyīng to tell you what it means to truly live. what stayed with me most was the idea that we are so busy trying to build a life that we sometimes forget to actually live one.
that said, i did find some of the lessons repetitive. but i took it as the exact point of the book. we already know many of these things, we just don’t always practice them. sometimes we need to hear the same lesson over and over before we finally understand it. morrie is really a great professor, the lessons were never complicated. i always see myself reflecting and understanding everything like i was mitch and they were my tuesdays. the book left me with the realization that we are all constantly approaching our own last tuesdays. end is inevitable. but to think about the end without living the in between will only make the ending bland. living should be fun. even if you feel like you’re near the end, still make the days count. those are still your days.

what an amazing book!! it holds so much wisdom and insight. It makes you think but not too much and really opens your mind on different ways of thinking. It had me crying by the end, but I think I knew it would from the beginning. would highly recommend
This book is absolute gem! The emotions it evoked in me are still resonating deeply & the wisdom/insights shared throughout the pages are truly valuable.Every book lover should read this book atleast once in their lifetime.
If I could rate this book a 100 I would. I fell in love with this book in high-school and have since read it 10 times. It helps you process death, and the loss of a loved one. It helped me understand my emotions after losing my grandfather. If you've felt loss, reading this book may help. I will forever recommend this book to ANYONE. It's nonfiction, but you wouldnt be able to tell. Morrie was an amazingly sweet old man, help Mitch keep his soul alive and listen to his last lesson.
This is a lovely book, that takes you through the final days of a 'coach' Morrie who is withering away from ALS. Told through the eyes of a student from long ago who returns to see his old 'coach' professor. This is a poignant story and although you know where it will end up it makes you think about how we look at life and dying.
