I had so mixed feelings about this book, even though I ended up rating it high in the end. I was at first a little interested in the mystery, but slowly realized that it was not what I was really reading the book for. I found myself skimming a lot of the stuff about the mystery because I was more interested in the characters that make up the background. I loved all the characters that have been brought in throughout the course of this series and they have become the best parts of the stories. Adrien's extended family and Jake are great and I love reading about how they interact with Adrien. Also Jake has grown so much as a person. You could see it in the last book, but in this book, he really shines. He is gentle without babying Adrien and he was willing to give Adrien the space he needed, but also was able to speak his mind and make his feelings clear. Also, the hang-up that Adrien had about whether he should get back together was very grounded and totally understandable and I loved that there were times that he realized that he was being unfair and was able to voice that.
