Ainda assim, a leitura valeu a pena.
Dystopian, full of mystery, hope, love and most of all the power of the human race to go on fighting for what they think is right. Even in the ending of this book you can tell that not all was truly disappeared. But it did leave a huge hole in my heart after I finished reading the book, I am left with this weird feeling that I should keep the most amazing memories as alive as I possibly can because you never know when they will be taken from you.
This was fine? It's described as Orwellian, but doesn't do it as well, and is just full of weird plot holes that I never felt were resolved satisfactorily. Disappointing because I loved The Housekeeper and the Professor so much.
Unfortunately, this book was the epitome of “fine.” The writing (or translation) was fine, the characters were fine, and the overarching narrative was, well, fine. The most interesting section came in the final few chapters and even then, it limped along (no pun intended). It’s not a book I’d recommend, but I don’t have anything particularly bad to say about it either. Normally, I would’ve put down a book like this, but the concept was just compelling enough to keep me going.
