The Magic of Reality by Richard Dawkins is a non-fiction book that takes you through the universe with scientific explanations. Reality is interpreted in many ways, in this book Dawkins presents us with a question followed by a mythological answer and then what he refers to as the 'real' answer which is always scientific based. Sometimes it is difficult to comprehend the world, let alone science. I must admit this is one of the great things about this book, the way it has been written is in an approachable manner, to which you can understand and learn about what is being said, rather than being stunted by large scientific words. With each chapter we are introduced to the myths and science that answer the question at hand. You can believe whichever you chose, though the author does heavily suggest we believe in the scientific answers and the evidence that backs them up. Dawkins is an atheist, so often what would be seen as religious stories are referred to as myths. This book is of course written with the opinion of the author, though I felt that he was respectful of other people's beliefs whilst staying true to his own. The Magic of Reality is very much an entry way into science and the way it has, does and will affect the world. I recommend this book to people looking to expand their knowledge of science, and perhaps those with the intention to open their mind to the many possibilities of the universe.
