Reviews

So. I fully believe that books that are considered classics can only be enjoyed by a particular type of modern reader.I'm not that type of reader, as much as I wish I was. To me, this book was a waste of time.

It happened so slowly yet so quickly!

It was an ok book not scary at all by the way.

I re-watched the show multiple times and I love every second of it. Reading the book after seeing the adaption is interesting, but it made me appreciate the work they did on the show even more. The characters are all so realistically annoying sometimes, which makes me hate them and love them at the same time. I loved the writing, it's what really made the atmosphere. I already knew what was going to happen, but the ending is sad anyway. Seeing the way the house affected Eleanor through her jumbled, paranoid thoughts said everything without actually saying it. I would have loved it even more if it had been longer and more detailed, but we have the show for that. Hill House is as creepy as ever and I love it so much.

Well it was not at all what I expected. I expect more story line in the ghosts themselves and their "unfinished business", a big let down, sorry to say.
