Description
The perfect gift for children and adults alike, Charles Dickens’ tale of self-discovery has become one of his most famous and best loved works. On Christmas Eve the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is haunted by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley, who warns him that he will be visited by three spirits. During the night, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Yet to Come show Scrooge the scenes of his youth, the poverty-stricken Christmas currently being endured by his loyal clerk Bob Cratchitt and his crippled son Tiny Tim—and the lonely future that awaits him if he continues in his grasping ways. He awakes on Christmas morning chastened by his nocturnal experiences, and resolves to be a better man. This volume also includes Dickens’ short story, "A Christmas Tree," with its evocative description of the delights of the season. With stunning, atmospheric new illustrations that evoke Dickensian London at Christmas time, award-winning artist Robert Ingpen has worked his wonders on this timeless tale.

View AllFirst Charles Dickens book I've ever read! It was a short and nice read.
it was slightly annoying as it was done by a computer generated voice, the standard microsoft one. pronoucation was wierd too. but i stuck with it. next time i'm going to try a human voiced audiobook i have a leatherbound copy of the christmas carol at home, and i haven't read it in full. but this is my all time favourite christmas story, as i have watched almost every version of it on TV (or DVD), my favourite by far being the muppet version. I also did a play back when i was in high school.this story is about Ebenezer scrooge. he is a cheapskate and from what i can tell; he is also an grumpy old man.this story has a few ghosts to show Ebenezer what he has been missing out on by hating christmas. he is shown what other peple think of him but dare not say to his face(Ever). and is shown what the future holds for him if he contiues on the path he is on.of course he changes his ways. but this is a story to make you think. it is meant to make you appreciate what you have and to celebrate the spirit of christmas because it brings joy to not only you but those around you.
