A Dog's Life

What do you need when you're living alone with your bad-tempered Grandad in a bungalow in mid-Wales, loathe your social worker, and hate that cow Mollie Pryce who makes your life a misery at school?
You need a friend. Trouble is, Gwynedd's best friend Sam Harper is moving to Bristol, where his mum's got a new job. Along come the Mangles - a strange couple who buy the Harpers' cottage and take on Sam's beloved dog, Ben.
Gwynedd doesn't trust the Mangles and decides to poke her nose into their affairs. What she discovers leads to a night of horror in the heart of the Welsh mountains and a wild chase that threatens to be the end of Gwynedd, Sam, and Ben...
