Description

In the quiet town of Fairview, the unsolved murder of popular high school senior Andie Bell has left a deep scar on the community. With her tragic fate looming over the town, the story has become a chilling backdrop for gossip and speculation among students. Those who knew Andie paint a picture of a girl loved by many, yet shrouded in mystery. This lingering question of who truly killed her ignites a spark in Pippa Fitz-Amobi, a determined and smart student, who feels compelled to uncover the truth.

As Pippa embarks on her investigation, she delves deeper into the tangled web of secrets, lies, and hidden motives that surround Andie's life and death. What begins as a school project transforms into a gripping quest that challenges her understanding of the people she thought she knew. With every clue she unravels, Pippa discovers that the truth can often be far more dangerous than it appears, pulling her into a dark tale of betrayal and unexpected revelations.

Emotional Palette: absorbing, complex, emotional, gripping, suspenseful

I couldn't put this book down! I started reading it when I had show week for theater and was reading it whenever I could. I finished it within six days. 10/10 would read again!

Absolutely brilliant! Pip’s investigation was clever, tense, and full of surprises. I couldn’t put it down—one of my favourite reads ever.

Okay, so this book was one hell of a roller coaster. The first half, in my opinion, dragged. A lot. I honestly found it difficult to get into but I preserved. The first half is also very nonsensical. A 17-year-old school girl decides to base her project on what is essentially a closed case despite there being nobody and expects to somehow do what the police haven't done in the 5/6 since the crime occurred. She goes as far as to even commit crimes, albeit small(ish) crimes, in the process which is funny to me. Ya know, considering she's trying to prove someone's innocence. All the evidence just seemed to fit conveniently into place and manages to fit perfectly together. However, in the second half. OH MY GOD this book SKYROCKETS! Yes, the ending is purely based on convenient and coincidental evidence but I was still shocked. The pace picks up and I wanted to continue reading. If you ask me, it gets wrapped up a little too neatly. You might as well slap a big, red bow on it. But I genuinely enjoyed reading this book in the end. Is this book believable? Not in the slightest but it's enjoyable and that's enough for me. First half - 1 ⭐️Second half - 3 ⭐️This is also the first book this year to make me cry so extra .5 stars for that! I don't normally cry at books so ya know. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

3.5 stars. I liked this book...but it paled in comparison to Missing Clarissa. Perhaps if I'd have read this before MC than I would've liked it better. I also found some things to be unbelievable, that diminished my overall enjoyment of the book. I didn't really like Pip but I also didn't dislike her, she just seemed to have no personality outside of this project and liking homework. Not sure if I will continue the series (especially since I know the last books has such mixed reviews).
