Against the Dark

This was a heartbreaking story of a family struggling with PTSD and suicide, and a story of love re-found. NSA analyst Claire Tierney’s life is in chaos, she struggles with her father and her brother who is suffering for severe PTSD. She can't be with anyone else who works in a high risk job, she just cannot handle anymore stress. Which is why she left the man she loves. Titanium Security team member Gage Wallace has dangers written all over him. He is constantly in harms way but he doesn't want to die he has a daughter and he wants to win the love of his life back. 4.5 stars.

Against the dark (The Associates #1) is my first Carolyn Crane book, and I enjoyed it. I'd like to read more of her work. I like Angel Ramirez, she's a talented safe cracker, an interior designer and quiet badass chick. Cole Hawkins is an brainy operator, an associate, an agent for a group called The Associates, he's in deep cover trying to ferret out the information to save stolen kids. Story was fun and different enough from other Romantic Suspense novels to make it interesting; only we didn't see enough of Cole's smarts.

I really need to read a full length I-Team novel, this is a short story said to be 5.5. Nate West is a scarred cowboy/hero that stays to himself on the family ranch, but he hope to see 'her' when he makes the beef donations to the community kitchen. Megan has made mistakes and has been more than punished but she and her daughter are trying to make a life for themselves. The past always seems to catch up to them. This time Nate is there to save Megan from harm. This is a quick romance but it was well written and makes me want to read the rest of the series. My only complaint is that it could have been longer.
