INCREDIBILE. Leggere questo libro è stato come intraprendere un lungo viaggio della speranza, tortuoso e crudele ma che rifarei ancora.

I just got so bored reading it. The story was good but for it to be this many pages is what I don't think is worth reading, and I keep getting lost in what is happening.

6 long months to read this bad boy. very good writing but it was so much. Lots of world building and a overall sad story during war.

At first, I found this book hard to get into. But once you start getting into the characters and their stories, it was unputdownable!

This book completely broke my heart. It’s dark, macabre, and deeply unsettling, but it’s also written with such talent that I couldn’t look away. I wasn’t expecting everything I read, it shocked me, hurt me, and left me speechless. The writing is gorgeous, the emotions feel painfully real, and the characters are unforgettable. It made me cry, it made me think. I didn’t finish this book; this book finished me. Alchemised is not a beautiful story, it’s a masterpiece of pain, obsession, and humanity.

I had been terrified of the sheer size of this one and vowed I'd never read it. Until it came up as our book club pick!Boy am I glad that it did!!I won't lie, its a heavy read (figuratively and literally)and I did take breaks to read short stories along with it. This really helped me on those days where I felt I'd been reading for hours but in % had hardly read anything.Although it took me a bit of getting into (me own fault getting used to some of the terms), I'm so pleased I stuck with it. The storyline was engaging, I loved the world building and description and there were a great mix of characters. Had it not been as many pages, I would have struggled to put it down.If you keep putting this one off due to the size, pick it up, you won't regret it.

This book isnt just some mare book . It's so beautiful and deep and devastating I have no words to describe it bc I had no words since closing the last page. Highly recommend for mature readers bc this book will make you think and feel a lot. I felt like this book isn't just a story but also a mirror of our reality. If you really think about it a lot of this stuff happens in real life, and that's part of what makes it so sad, the government the lies by society the affects of war just the way everything is depicted. The writing is especially so incredibly good senlinyu is truly talented

I don't usually write reviews, but this book deserves it. Where do I even start? The beginning is a little flawed in my opinion. The exposition is in places a little forced, with characters explaining the mechanics of the Rebellion to each other in a way you never would when you are in a Rebellion together. It comes over a little weird, which is explainable as it is the author's debut novel. There were also some times when it got a little "technical" in the way the magic system worked. In the beginning I looked up a glossary online and used it a few times, until I got used to the phrases and terms for things. It usually got explained at some point, but it left me too confused to wait for it. But wow, does the rest of the book make up for it. I loved the pacing. The flawed, scarred and traumatised characters. The way they try to do what's best, but in a war with only losers, what is right? The way they come out on the other side scarred, terrified and traumatised by the events that happened, but still choosing each other, even when the flaws don't leave. I love some broken characters in a place where it makes sense. A war changes you and makes you do things you never realised you could, or makes you cross lines you thought you never would. It's more than a love story of course. It is about stepping over a line with one foot, then another, another step and looking back and realising you got over it further than you initially meant to. I know a book is worth five stars for me when I can't put it down, when I tell myself "one more chapter", which this book did for me. The size of it scared me a little at first and I imagined I would be reading this book for a lot longer, but it just held me tight and didn't let go. So yes, some exposition was unnatural, it was a little technical, but the characters, the pacing and the storytelling made up for it. And if I may give a little "spoiler"/suggestion: someone recommend to me that once I finished part two, I should reread part one. I had it all fresh in my mind so I just skimmed through it, but I would recommend this to everyone if you want a deeper layer to the story.
