I just immediately finishes this duology. Sometimes this could really go around in circles. The ending felt a bit too convenient, but it was fun to listen to.
I didn’t enjoy this book quite as much as the first one, but still a good read.Ava and Torin fought to be together, even after being captured. They escaped, knowing it might be futile, but did it anyways. And even after Ava believed him to be gone when they were recaptured, she worked in secret to train, embrace and hone her magic, so one day she’d be able to get the upper hand to try and save Faerie even if Torin wasn’t there. I suspected from the beginning that Ava was the Unseelie heir, so that wasn’t a surprise to me. Mab’s ways of testing her daughter to be sure she was worthy was a bit twisted, and I don’t think she’d ever really be a favorite side character, but for Ava, at least she has a family she can try to build a relationship with if she desires to.The whole Moria and the seer thing felt… pushed. I don’t know. Like there needed to be a villain that wasn’t Mab and the Unseelie.Overall, I’m glad I read it, but it’s not a favorite for me.
