Description
On a remote, icy planet, the soldier known as Breq is drawing closer to completing her quest.
Breq is both more than she seems and less than she was. Years ago, she was the Justice of Toren--a colossal starship with an artificial intelligence linking thousands of corpse soldiers in the service of the Radch, the empire that conquered the galaxy.
An act of treachery has ripped it all away, leaving her with only one fragile human body. And only one purpose--to revenge herself on Anaander Mianaai, many-bodied, near-immortal Lord of the Radch.

View AllDon't believe the hype!! I had such high hopes for this book following all of the reviews, award, etc. but unfortunately this was not my cup of tea at all! Ok, being completely honest, I found much of the book to be flat & dull with its rambling conversations which certainly didn't grab my attention as I had hoped. I can only sum it up as disappointing!!!
It took me a while to get into this book. I couldn't seem to get one long stretch to read and get immersed in the world, so I kept losing track of the terminology and historical events. But by the end, I was engrossed in the story, and cared about the characters. The final confrontation was exciting and set up the next book well without feeling cheap or obvious. I am looking forward to the next book.
