Here, the stakes are high, and so are the dangers. The story introduces readers to Elena Deveraux, a fierce hunter with a sharp mind and a knack for tracking down rogue angels. But when a seemingly simple assignment spirals into something much darker, Elena finds herself entangled in a web of power, desire, and betrayal.

As she navigates her way through a city that pulses with danger, she unexpectedly crosses paths with the enigmatic archangel, Raphael. Commanding and alluring, he offers her an alliance that could change everything. However, alliances come with their own set of risks and seductive temptations. Together, they face trials that test their boundaries and redefine their understanding of loyalty and trust.

With dynamic characters and a richly crafted world, this first installment sets the stage for a captivating adventure. Readers will be drawn into a narrative that blends action, romance, and intrigue, making it impossible to put down. I've always been a fan of Nalini's Psy-Changling series and wasn't sure if I would like this one... But boy the lady has a gifted touch and long may she continue to whisk me away from the norm and into a world of SMOKIN HOT Archangels, angels and vampires, and of course a strong yet lovely heroine :) Re read 2nd - 4th July 2015OK so its not news that I adore [a:Nalini Singh|71688|Nalini Singh|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1423312512p2/71688.jpg] and I have read most of her books, there was a book club read so I joined in as I just needed to read a book for my pleasure rather than the blog.My thoughts on my second read - AWESOME!!!!! I am dying to read book two but I am a bit stretched for reading time, so I will continue in August.Re reading you notice the little things... the descriptions, the settings, I don't know how to describe it, but they just became... MORE... More vivid in my imagination.I took more notice of the interactions of the side characters, and because Nalini is awesome - there's free stories on her website (I read one about Montgomery the butler yesterday and I loved getting to know him a little better) I love these characters, and the premise of the storyline... Oh to live in a world where angels and vampires exist :DThese books are my escape from the pressures of my reality, and I am truly grateful to Ms Singh for them... life can get a bit much sometimes and at these times I know I can disappear into a book and loose myself for a while.I have a lot on this month but I intend to re read the rest of the series over August/September.

I've been a little hestitant to read this series by Nalini Singh, not because I don't love her writing but because I LOVED the Psy-Changling series sooo much. I was worried that I wouldn't give it a fair chance. Well I was wrong, I loved this book. Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux ROCKS!!! She's tough yet soft, she kicks ass but loves those she loves with everything. Now I liked archangel Raphael, there are many times in this book where the balance of power is extremely off kilter. Elena is hired by the archangel Raphael, and he wants her to go on a hunt but he's not giving her much information. And the sparks between these two fly from the beginning, mostly because Elena doesn't bow to archangels. I give this book 4 1/2 stars. Can't wait to get my hands on book 2 in the Guild Hunter series, Archangel's Kiss.
