Description

In a quiet, snow-covered town, the heart of the community pulses through its love for hockey. Hockey is more than a sport in Beartown; it is a lifeline that connects the townsfolk in a web of passion, dreams, and unyielding loyalty. As the town gears up for the junior ice hockey championships, anticipation and excitement blend with the weight of expectation that comes with seemingly insurmountable pressure.

Amidst the fervor, the lives of the individuals in Beartown intertwine, revealing the struggles and triumphs that come with ambition, loss, and belonging. Friendships are tested, families strained, and secrets threaten to unravel the fabric of their tightly knitted community. With passion comes division, and as the stakes rise, choices made on the ice ripple far beyond, challenging the very essence of what it means to be a part of Beartown.

Fredrik Backman crafts a powerful narrative that dives deep into the complexities of human relationships and the sacrifices people make for the things they love. Through the lens of this small town, he explores themes of loyalty, resilience, and the pursuit of identity, ultimately shedding light on the enduring spirit of a community bound together by their shared dreams.

✨️Audiobook review✨️ Beartown by Fredrik Backman⭐️⭐️"Time always moves at the same rate, only feelings have different speeds." I'm not really sure how I feel about this book if I'm honest. I mean I listened to the whole thing, it kind of draws you in. There was a lot that bored me, but there were topics that kept you intrigued on where it was going. I don't know if I really enjoyed the writing style and the narration was pretty mediocre. All in all it's a no from me. It was a long old book too, and it just kept going on but as I say there was something that kept pulling you back in. I will not be reading the others in this series.
