Description

In a twist on the classic fairy tale, a young man named Kyle Kingsbury is cursed by a witch for his arrogance and shallowness. Transformed into a beastly figure, he is cast out of his privileged world and forced to navigate life in a form he finds repulsive. As he grapples with his new reality, Kyle learns that true beauty lies far beneath the surface, and he must confront the darkness within himself.

Seeking redemption, Kyle's journey becomes intertwined with that of Lindy, a kind-hearted girl who unwittingly becomes a part of his ransom. Her presence stirs something deep within him, igniting a hope that he thought was lost. As Kyle strives to earn her love and break the curse, the boundaries of acceptance and transformation blur, leading to profound revelations about love and sacrifice.

Set against a contemporary backdrop, this retelling explores themes of identity, self-worth, and the redemptive power of love. It invites readers to reflect on what defines real beauty and the lengths one may go to find it.

A modern retelling of Beauty and the Beast from Beast's perspective.I truly like it.It feels strange, but I already miss reading it.Reading it in less than two days is kind of record for me.I like the references to Jane Eyre,Hunchback and other books. The chatroom parts were sort of interesting and new for me.Although I like the book,in the first place I couldn't like the main character,Kyle. He was a dirty guy who deserved what he got. However, after a while I started to not hate him,and I just tolerate him.I have one complaint, though.I know this book is YA, But it seems to me it is a bit soon to find true love at 15. It's just an idea any way.I have some other complaints, but I just ignore them ,because I enjoy reading this book.
