Description

Birdie finds herself navigating a labyrinth of family secrets following her mother's funeral, an event that serves as the catalyst for unleashing truths long buried. As layers of deception peel away, Birdie is forced to confront not just her mother's shadowy past but also her own identity, shaped by the lies that surrounded her. The revelation of these dark secrets sends Birdie on an emotional journey that intersects with the grief of loss.

Amidst the turmoil, Birdie discovers that understanding her mother's choices can lead to her own healing. Each revelation pulls her deeper into a web of complexity, where love, betrayal, and redemption coexist. Relationships she once took for granted are plunged into uncertainty, leaving Birdie grappling with questions of loyalty and the true meaning of family.

As she pieces together the fragmented narrative of her mother's life, Birdie learns that the past does not have to dictate the present. Her journey becomes one of reclaiming her voice and agency, transforming an unwelcome inheritance of secrets into a profound exploration of self.

With emotional depth and heartfelt poignancy, Birdie's story invites readers to reflect on their connections, the weight of legacy, and the resilience that emerges through understanding and acceptance. It is a tale of discovering not just the past, but the power of moving forward.

Love this series so far

This book was great. I enjoyed the chemistry between Lonan and Birdie and I loved that there was a subplot with the evidence submissions. I felt that this book was slightly lacking in the plot considering that there was an immediate acceptance and trust that came when she returned to her family. I felt like that was a fair bit unrealistic but otherwise I really enjoyed the story.
