Description

Delilah, an introverted high school student, finds solace within the pages of her favorite books. Immersed in the fictional world of a romantic fantasy, she discovers a protagonist named Oliver, a character who comes alive in her imagination. As Delilah navigates the complexities of adolescence, she grapples with feelings of alienation and longing for connection, leading her deeper into the realms of her beloved stories.

In a surprising twist, Delilah's life takes an extraordinary turn when she discovers that Oliver, with his charming personality and adventurous spirit, can leap from the pages of her book into her reality. This newfound relationship blurs the line between fantasy and reality, allowing Delilah to explore themes of love, courage, and the impact of her choices. As they embark on unforgettable adventures together, Delilah must confront her own fears and insecurities while learning the importance of embracing her true self.

The journey not only brings thrilling escapades but also profound lessons about friendship, identity, and the power of storytelling. Through their enchanting connection, Delilah and Oliver reveal what it means to belong, pushing the boundaries of imagination and challenging the often rigid constructs of the world outside the library walls.

I really wanted to like this book, but I found like this book was more targeted towards younger than YA. What I found really annoying was the colours and text of the POV chapters, personally it didn't impact that much. I found the book really cliché and not only that but at times it had its boring moments. What I did like was the illustrations that were accompanied in the book, they were really beautiful. In addition, I thought this book was really cute and adorable, yet the text and colours and the writing just put me off. Overall I rate this book a 1.5/5.
