3.5 Stars“They say it's good to let your grudges go, but I don't know, I'm quite fond of my grudge. I tend it like a little pet.”I don't really know what to say.... I actually watched the show when it came out, so I actually knew what was going to happen whilst reading the book. The main characters: Jane, Celeste and Madeline were loveable and entertaining. I loved how the book showed different perspectives of these characters, just like the show did. Reading the book was just like watching the show all over again, however I don't think Harper was incredibly annoying in the show as she was in the book. Overall, I think I enjoyed the show a little more than the book, but it was an enjoyable read.

Big Little Lies is an absolute 5-star masterpiece. This book expertly combines sharp humor, intricate storytelling, and a deeply emotional exploration of friendship, motherhood, and the hidden complexities of the suburban life of the characters. From the first page, the author pulls me into the intertwined lives of her characters, blending mystery and drama with moments of genuine warmth and wit. The narrative structure, jumping between timelines and perspectives, it was just amazing. The themes of secrecy, resilience, and the ripple effects of violence are handled with care and nuance, making the story more real and personal. The characters are authentic and relatable, keeping me interested in their journeys until the end of the story. I think this is the kind of book that I like the most because it’s a perfect combination of everything I’m looking for.I truly recommend this book and for me it’s the perfect pick for overcoming a reading slump.
