In Connor Prendergast's opinion, "Black Occult Macabre" is the greatest piece of literary work to ever have ever been conceived. The fact that he created the horror magazine, wrote the stories and illustrated its pages is simply coincidental, and certainly not the result egotistical bias.
Over the course of six issues, "Black Occult Macabre" has delivered to its healthy subscription base of twenty-five six issues worth of terrifying tales, each of which is based in Connor's hometown. Using a deadly combination of investigative journalism and total fabrication, the veracity of the stories are left to be decided by those who dare to read them to their end.
But for Connor Prendergast, the creation "Black Occult Macabre Vol. 1 Issue 7" will be more frightening than the content of the issue itself. Guided by Herbert North, an eccentric old man with secrets to share, Connor discovers that those things which only seemed possible in the darkest of thoughts are not without a place in reality; and that his work, which he so pompously proclaimed as being masterful, may be more important than he ever truly realized.
