On Cup Final Day, before the match begins, proceedings are interrupted by the deadliest shot in football history – a round from a sniper rifle intended for the Prime Minister. John Parkin was Senior Partner in a firm of Chartered Accountants for over thirty years, and after retirement published his first book, Bladon’s Puzzle. He lives in Derbyshire, where Bladon’s Revenge is set, with his wife Margaret. They work together in their local church and they have two married children in Italy and Kent, and twin grandchildren.
