A catalogue of an exhibition of Modern British Painters 1900-1940, which was made possible by the generosity of the many private owners who lent their paintings in aid of the Wells Cathedral Appeal, thereby providing the dual opportunity of seeing fine and interesting examples of a great, though generally unappreciated, period of British painting, and at the same time supporting a magnificent cathedral.
