I found this a very satisfying read. It was well written and engaging throughout despite not a huge amount happening. That's all down to the good writing and editing. For those unsure about the ending I would suggest reading few reviews afterwards as they may provide food for thought.It is a story that really makes you reflect and think about the war, it's impact, getting old and making the best of your life. It was also immensely sad in relation to the war and Teddy aging.I struggled with the jumping around of time. Whilst one chapter was stated as being set in a certain year, within that chapter the story still jumped around. You needed to be concentrating.A very thought provoking read which prompted a lot of interesting discussion at our book club. I will be reading more by Kate Atkinson.
