This book was so good and extremely hard to put down. The characters were fun and entertaining. The "bad guy" is not who you would expect it to be in the end.

Really good book that's way better than the stupid cover Ilona chose for it.Definitely sits loosely in the romantasy genre but I'd say it's a bit more grounded in reality compared to others I've read. The setting and world building isn't that hard to follow.Protagonist is likeable and the other main character actually does a really good job at helping to grow the protagonist and is quite unique in his bluntness. The magic powers and conflicts are well written and there's some decent humour in their as well.Looking forward to the rest of the series.
