Amish vampires?! Genius when you think about it and such a unique concept to read about. Adam was interesting. He was a little problematic sometimes (I guess we can blame that on the “beast” trying to take control) and was a wholesome, faithful Amish boy (with a serious aversion to cussing. lol) the rest of the time. There was a lot of repetitive back-and-forth with Annalise, as she struggled to make her choice, but in this case, it actually made sense. I feel like the author did a great job portraying a very realistic dynamic between their vastly different lifestyles and faith and how they handled that. I do feel like there were a few loose ends and things that weren’t explained very well, but those may be addressed in other books of the series. Overall, I really enjoyed this!"
