Brooks and Lottie’s story had so much more depth than I expected, and I found myself fully invested in where their journey would take them.Brooks has carried a torch for Lottie his whole life, even when she stood at the altar about to marry his older brother. So when the two of them wake up in Vegas with rings on their fingers and no memory of how it happened, Brooks is convinced his lifelong dream has finally come true. Lottie, however, doesn’t share his enthusiasm. For her, the accidental marriage only brings more small-town gossip and more meddling from Brooks’ mother (who also happens to be her least favorite person).What really stood out to me was Brooks himself, his quiet misery and unwavering devotion to Lottie made him so easy to root for. Lottie’s hesitation felt authentic too, even if at times I found myself wishing she’d let her guard down on their dates.
