Chosen by the Ashes

Janet Browns certainly has her share of problems: an ailing mother, a mediocre job, and a neurotic aunt are just a few. It's hard for her to believe things can get more complicated; however, when she awakes one day to find she's in a different world, it does just that. Janet is thrown into the midst of an ambiguous prophecy, and must assimilate to a strange place in order to conquer a lingering evil shrouding the desperate population of Labsynth. While wishing nothing more than to vanish in the shadows, Janet is engulfed in a world of magic, complicated politics, and deep personal battles, all while encountering new friends and enemies through her trials. In order to save her mother's life and return home, Janet needs to draw enough strength to overcome not only the physical enemy lurking on the borders of the town...but also the one dwelling within her own hardened heart.
