Description

In a world where boundaries blur and alliances shift, Kiley Reid weaves a tale that delves into the complexities of attraction and ambition. The protagonist, a residential assistant navigating her professional responsibilities, finds herself ensnared in a web of desire and complication. Her connection with a charismatic yet unpredictable professor sets the stage for an exploration of power dynamics, ethics, and personal ambition.

As the narrative unfolds, the protagonist grapples with her evolving feelings and the consequences of her choices. Reid expertly captures the thrill and confusion of attraction, demonstrating how easily lines can be crossed in the quest for fulfillment. The vibrant backdrop of campus life adds an additional layer of tension, with the ever-present specter of scrutiny and judgment looming overhead.

With sharp dialogue and keen insights, Reid crafts characters who are both relatable and flawed, illuminating the messy entanglements that often accompany desire. Their journey raises important questions about consent, responsibility, and the complexities of modern relationships, inviting readers to reflect on their own experiences. This provocative narrative is sure to leave a lasting impression, challenging perceptions and sparking conversation long after the final page is turned.

3.5 ⭐I enjoyed it. Not my favorite, it is a bit of a ramble until the action happens in the second half. But I laughed a lot during the rambling so I thought it was ok. It felt like a very accurate portrayal of dorm life. I would have given it 4 stars but the second half plotline with Agatha bored me and I wished more happened with the Kennedy plotline instead.
