I’ve heard this book being called the “Christmas episode” and that description is spot on. It’s a fun break and view into the daily lives of the characters we’ve grown to love and feel invested in. A necessary transition into whatever is next to come.
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.
Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.
A tender addition to the #1 bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and A Court of Silver Flames.
Perfeito, sem dúvidas! Um conto pós guerra com eles comemorando o solstício (como se fosse um natal para nós), e mostrando como cada um estava lidando após a guerra, maravilhoso.
This was a cute little filler story and it was nice to see everyone mostly happy for a book.
I’m giving this 3 stars because I really love these characters enough that I can’t imagine I wouldn’t like reading anything about them, but this book wasn’t really necessary. It’s literally just a “Christmas” happily ever after for Feyre and Rhys. It does provide a good transition for the POV/MC switch with the next book, but I feel like it could have just been done as a short epilogue at the end of the last book.
While lots of people dislike this book I always read it fondly 🥰 it's nice to see a bit of their routine, the joy of being together as a family and the exchange of presents during the Winter Solstice has my heart
I liked this series but it was a bit too much spice for me and it takes time to get going. However, once it gets going, it's mostly really good.
3.75 ☆'sA look into life after the war in Velaris. I got through this in one day and it immediately had me wanting to step straight into book 5.I loved that Elain seemed to be more 'at home' and felt able to join in with Solstice. I really felt for Nesta, and knowing the next book is from her POV has me intrigued by what we will find out.I absolutely loved Fayre's plans for the children in Velaris to use art as therapy for the things they encountered during and since the war.The niggles of unrest has me anxiously wondering whats in store for the Illyrians, with a hope that our favourite warriors remain safe.
After the heaviness from the previous book I absolutely needed a slow, cosy book and this was definitely it! It was slow, but I loved that I got a bit of a background story from multiple characters! And the humour in this book, I hadn’t laughed so hard in quite some time about a book
This was a cute novella. No real plot or anything happening but some lose ends tied up with a bit of extra info. Otherwise boring.
Another brilliant read, everything is tying together beautifully
