Description
Anita Blake finds herself drawn deeper into the underworld of the supernatural as her vampire servant, Damian, suffers from terrifying nightmares that leave him drenched in blood-sweat. With each restless night, the dreams become more vivid and more violent, hinting at a sinister force at play. As Anita navigates the complex web of vampire politics and ancient curses, she must grapple not only with her responsibilities as a vampire hunter but also with her unwavering loyalty to Damian.
As the dreams intensify, Anita realizes that the nightmares are not just figments of Damian's tortured mind; they are connected to a dark entity that threatens them both. Racing against time, she seeks the help of old allies and powerful beings to uncover the truth behind this mysterious affliction. Throughout her journey, she faces moral dilemmas that test her resolve, forcing her to confront her own feelings towards the vampire realm.
Amid the chaos, Anita must rely on her instincts and personal strength while navigating the dangers posed by enemies old and new. Each revelation brings her closer to the heart of the menace, setting the stage for a gripping battle that will challenge everything she believes about love, loyalty, and what it means to be a hunter of the night.

Reviews
After rereading this book I now give it a 2. The beginning dragged and was completely boring, the middle was mediocre, but the ending was great. I skipped parts that wasn't that important. This is the first Anita Blake book I was unable to finish. Nearly 200 pages in and her many lovers are who she's surrounded by. I was hoping she would be on her way to Ireland before I turned to the 100th page. I'm finally done with this series and I've been reading them since her first Anita Blake book.
