It is a creepy idea, but it's like hearing it from a friend of a friend who it happened to. It would have been more compelling if it were happening to the narrator rather than having the narrator telling us from documents he's read. Another situation of interesting concept, poor execution. Kind of can see where King got his inspiration from though, especially for Carrie.
