This is a hard review to write. Let me start off by saying, the first book was the very first Cozy Fantasy I ever enjoyed. It was a heart warming tear jerking story that swept you along. So when I found out there was a second book, I enjoyed to get it! The ONLY reason I got through it, was I had the audio gifted to me and the narrator did an amazing job. The story itself? Felt like nothing but long sets of political talks while everyone sat around. The characters lost their charm for a good 75% of the book turning into flat 2 dimensional people to just push along the author's ideas. Believe me, I know what they were going for, but it was done in such a way as to make me HATE the book and the ideas they were doing. Which is the OPPOSITE they were going for I am sure.
I think the first book was much better but these kids are so loveable I don't care about the pacing or the plot issues this was great, or as Lucy would say; Righteous!
