From her late B-movie star mother to the old art deco theater where she now ushers -- and all the auditions in between -- Hollywood is the only world Maddie Pryce has ever known. Acting is her passion, but when someone begins picking off her co-workers, Maddie finds herself cast in a new role as amateur detective. With the help of an LAPD Robbery-Homicide detective who’s too cute for his own good, she follows the leads, hoping to discover the murderer's motive.

As the body count rises and the suspect list narrows, Maddie knows she needs to connect the dots soon. After all, she's already been the mark for a burglar, and "serial killer's quarry" is not the last role Maddie Pryce wants to play.
