Reviews

Least favorite of the series, but still fun.

I've loved Henry since the first book in this series and so I was excited to see him get his own book. Having personal experience of how Henry sees and processes the things around him and his feelings, made him so relatable and I really enjoyed seeing how well the author brought his characteristics to life.It was hard to see Henry struggling but knowing how much care and support he had around him once he was ready was lovely to see. Halle felt like the kind of person who you would want to be around and fit perfectly into the Maple Hills family. I would have liked to have seen a little more about Henry's home life as his parents sounded lovely and really supportive.

When I picked this book up I didn't expect to be so smitten by it.I love everything about this masterpiece.I had certain expectations about this having read the previous books in the series-I expected a lot of spice,a lot of clingiliness from the characters but this took me by suprise. This read explored so many complex themes that involve family, mental health, bullying, abuse etc & I must say, im so happy with the way HANNAH handled these topics with so much grace and love. The characters in this read felt so true to life and I loved the part each and everyone of them played to bring this book to life but my absolute fav were H².HENRY & HALLE are both absolutely adorable and so so mature. My fav thing about these two was the support they gave each other despite all the issues they had to deal with besides school and their relationship.I loved that HENRY didn't discard HALLE'S insecurities and emotional breakdowns instead he made her understand just how important she is to him,the people around her but mostly to herself & I love that HALLE understood that Henry's need for space didn't mean he wouldn't want her again or that there was something wrong with her.I loved that they were careful not to turn each others fears and lacks about oneself.I loved this so so much

Summary:Daydream by Hannah Grace, the third installment in the Maple Hills series, is a heartfelt college romance blending academic and sports worlds. The story follows Henry Turner, a reluctant ice hockey captain who is also struggling to keep up with a demanding course and his difficult professor. Desperate for help, he befriends Halle Jacobs, a fellow junior, after accidentally stumbling into her book club.Halle is an academic overachiever juggling her studies, a part-time job, and attempts to overcome her writer's block to finish her novel. Despite her own packed schedule, she agrees to tutor Henry. Their sessions lead to shared experiences and new adventures as they navigate their growing friendship and burgeoning feelings. While they set rules to keep things platonic, those boundaries begin to blur as they spend more time together. The novel features witty interactions, personal growth, and a slow-burn romance, making it a delightful mix of humor and emotion. It’s a perfect read for fans of tropes like forced proximity, sports romance, and opposites attracting.Review:Daydream by Hannah Grace is a heartfelt and swoon-worthy romance that beautifully blends emotional depth with lighthearted moments. Set against a cozy and inviting backdrop, the story follows compelling characters whose chemistry leaps off the page, keeping readers hooked from start to finish. Hannah Grace masterfully crafts relatable protagonists with distinct personalities, making it easy for readers to root for their happiness. The romance is slow-burning yet deeply satisfying, with moments of tenderness, passion, and humor woven throughout. The dialogue feels natural and witty, adding charm and authenticity to the characters' interactions. One of the book's standout features is its exploration of themes like vulnerability, personal growth, and learning to trust. Grace strikes a perfect balance between romantic tension and heartfelt introspection, making the story not only engaging but emotionally resonant. If there’s any critique, it might be that the pacing occasionally lags in places, but this doesn’t detract much from the overall enjoyment of the story. Overall, this book is a delightful and emotionally enriching read, perfect for fans of contemporary romance who love a story that makes them laugh, cry, and, above all, believe in the magic of love.Characters:“This is my third year at Maple Hills, and not once has someone asked me to hang out within an hour of meeting. I don’t think anyone’s asked me to hang out, period.”Henry Turner: The college hockey team captain who reluctantly takes on the leadership role while struggling with academics. Henry is a junior trying to balance his demanding course with an intimidating professor and his responsibilities on the ice. His journey involves personal growth, learning to embrace challenges, and finding unexpected support in Halle, and OMMGGG THIS PERSONNN HOW MUCH I LOVE, i can't tell how much.

Henry n Halle are so friggin cute. This book is so cute. I love their story the most and the fact that Henry is a total green flag just made it even better. I love the way Henry was with Halle, so patient, understanding. Those cute gifts and the painting, just made the book, the story the best in the series so far.

⭐️2-2.25How one of my most anticipated books of 2024 turned out to be one of, if not the, most disappointing books of the year is both baffling and somewhat amusing. I sincerely hope Hannah Grace doesn’t continue this series (although it’s likely she will, much to my dismay), as the series has progressively gotten worse with every book—something I feel happens a lot in romance series. Personally, I don’t need another book in the series after reading this one, especially since I don't think there are any side characters left who would warrant a whole book. The only redeeming aspect for me was the close-knit friendship, which I found cute for the most part, especially towards the end (though I felt indifferent about some of the new side characters, like Cami, Poppy, and Emily). But other than that, I have nothing nice to say about this book. The Henry I once adored—the character I was eager to learn more about—felt completely stripped of the charm he had in 'Icebreaker', becoming flat and unremarkable. The same can be said for Halle, who I struggled to warm up to throughout this book. I think the main reason I couldn’t vibe with this book is mainly due to how boring Halle and Henry's journey to being in a relationship was. They could’ve just stayed friends, and I would've been equally content. This speaks volumes about the "romance" and how uninteresting the characters were on their own.The tutoring subplot, which lasts for about five chapters or so, seemed to serve no real purpose, and this book overall was excessively long—by 100-150 pages. By page 300, the plot had pretty much fizzled out, and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. This is one of those books where the length of over 400 pages becomes glaringly noticeable, and that's definitely not a good thing.Overall, if I had known this was what I was going to get, I wouldn’t have even picked up the book.

Hannah Grace has done it again, I’ve gone and fallen in love with another book. Daydream was everything I wanted and needed it to be. The emotions that this book drew out of me - I felt upset and angry, I felt happy and supportive, I laughed out loud. Halle and Henry were perfect for each other and their little quirks played into each other so well. It was an absolute joy getting to read about these two and I felt like I was watching it play out in front of me. This book was written so incredibly well and the connection to the characters was top tier. The way that Hannah is able to write about insecurities and mental health is inspiring. Everyone needs a Halle and a Henry in their life. Their supportive friends topped this one off.I can say one thing for sure, I will always hate Will and I’ll always love Henry. Halle for sure upgraded and I would too for a book boyfriend like Henry. Go and read this book right now if you haven’t, it’s a must read!

I loved it but the story line was a little too "slow burn" for me :/

September 27th 2024

This one is not nearly as spicy as her other books so go in with that expectation. I did feel like these characters were more developed and she did a great job describing the difficulties of being AuDHD. She specifically says she didn't want to diagnose her main character, but I'm married to a Henry so I feel good about it.
