View All馃寠6 stars!!馃憫Where do I even begin?? This book was INCREDIBLE. I thought it couldn't get much better after the first book, but it clearly did. Reading this book felt like an addiction in all honesty.馃The plot itself I think is my favorite. Reading this book was an incredible journey, and I WISH I could experience this for the first time again. It was so gripping and action-packed and so well done.馃Their relationship was so cute. The angst was so delicious as well. I think I personally prefer romance subplot over main plot, apparently.馃憤THAT ENDING. I am shaking. Amazing cliffhanger -- I love and hate it at the same time. I need the third book immediately.馃憤 Cardan in this book was a whole new level. I loved his character growth -- and yes, I appreciated his scheming, even though it left me crying and screaming at times.馃憤Jude never disappoints. I was afraid she'd lose her backbone and personality after falling in love, but she fortunately did not.馃憤I can tell certain characters were supposed to make me mad. Well done, I was. I still am.
So firstly, I want to eat every single dish that Holly Black describes. I am dying to try a honeyed cake. Every time this book mentions food, I am desperate to make the same meal. Alas, I am a rubbish cook. I found this book pretty slow going, I think from being such a romantasy reader, I do have to remind myself that actually these books are more political dramas - I think advertising/TikTok etc suggests more that it's the other genre! However I did love the moments between Jude and Cardan, her confusion about her feelings flicking back and forth - they felt SO realistic! I wasn't as gripped by this book as the first, but the ENDING? YES!! Onto the next!
