After former golf protégé Michael Flanigan lost his wife, he took a liking to painkillers, and washed them down with booze. As he battled through his grief and addiction, the eighteen holes at the Foster Glen Golf Club in Burlington, Ontario became his sanctuary. That is until early one morning in June of 2008, when he finds a mutilated body on the eighth fairway, which happens to be right out his backyard. The victim turns out to be a professional rival of Michael's late wife, Emily. Twenty-four hours later, Michael's ex-mistress is found butchered in a bunker on the ninth hole at Foster Glen. Suspicion quickly falls on Michael, but he thinks that someone is out to frame him-or worse. He believes both murders are connected to Emily's fatal fall down the Niagara Escarpment during a photo shoot eight months prior. Haunted by his failure to protect her and guilt-ridden by his infidelity, Michael sets out to quash the police's conclusion that his wife's death was an accident. Formidable adversaries, disturbing events, and jarring revelations rock the foundation of Michael's quest. But his biggest challenge could be uncovering the truth without losing more people he loves in the process.
