Ok ok ok.So, I have had the great honor of getting a few ARC copies of J.C. McKenzies books and this one is no different, BUT this is the best one I've read yet, and I'm sad I have to wait for the next book.I read this book in 5 hours, and I could not put it down. Character building and world building were on point. I absolutely love Lark and Connor's banter back and forth.I am enjoying the necromancy and Lark having so many different jobs that we get to see different types of "raising" spirits, and the incorporation of leviathan is pretty well done for the little bit we get to see of him, I might be simping for him already, but will probably regret that in the next book... or not. We will have to see.Hopefully, in the next book, we will get to see Lark and Connor's relationship move forward.All in all, I very much enjoyed this book.
