Deity: The Third Covenant Novel

This book had me reeling. So much came to light so quickly. But at the same time, nothing was clear. From the beginning, I never trusted Seth but I tried to see the good in him. I know there is good in him. Everyone else, aside from Alex, just has to see it. Alex already does and wants to save him. But as he birthday draws closer, Seth becomes more and more suspicious. He lies more than he tells the truth and is very clearly not putting Alex's needs first. On some level, I know he cares for her but sometimes that is hard to see when he is overcome with his thoughts of becoming the God Killer.But the most shocking was the reveal of who had been by their side the entire time. When Apollo reveals himself, I was floored. And then it's like gods come out of the woodwork. By the end, we come face-to-face with seven gods. That we know of at least. There's one hiding, pulling the strings and trying to incite war. And shockingly, I don't think it's Ares. So far he has not made an appearance but considering who he is in myths, he seems too straightforward to pull someone else's strings. I would have to agree with the suggestion Marcus makes later in the book, when they are discussing such things with Apollo.The book ends on a rather dreary note, compounded by the novella, Elixir, that takes place at the end. Finally seeing things through Aiden's eyes is interesting and sheds quite a bit of light on things. I know, by the end, he has made the right choice. It will be a hard one to make happen but I know if anyone can do it, it's him.Things have only just begun.
