Reviews
3.5 star rating overall. This book...it wasn't what I was expecting or anticipated when it came to Creighton. I LOVE his character in the first book...but not so much in the second book. I feel like the aura surrounding him in his second book didn't really match him at all. And, to be honest, I feel like Annika wasn't that good of a match for him. To be honest, I don't really think Annika should have been the love interest at all. I feel like Creighton should have been more of a vanilla person when it comes to sex than a dominant one, because that what his personality feels like to me. It wasn't that the plot line/story wasn't good. It's just...this one felt fleeting to the first one. Fast-paced in timeline and writing style compares to the first book and when it comes to outside characters...it felt like they were barely involved compared to the first book. So far, this one isn't a favorite in the series. I'm hoping the third one will be much, much better!
✨️Audiobook review✨️ God of Pain by Rina Kent⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️2nd book in the series. This time its Creighton and Annika as our main characters. Annika is the MFC, a Mafia princess whose family are volatile and super protective. Then we have Creighton, the MMC, brooding, silent type with a terrible tragic past. Their lives collide at college, but little do they know they are more intertwined than they could ever expect...and not in a good way. There is a lot of
Esta segunda entrega me gustó bastante pero siento que le faltó un poco más de desarrollo, pero me encantó la pareja de Annika y Creighton
I think the age of the characters weren't my thing, it felt very high school but the plot was good. I still enjoyed it
This gave me a lot of tears that I was expecting, definitely a good one⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
5 ⭐️'s 4 🌶's***** Slight Spoilers (just in the quotes) ******The way he calls her little purple 😭💜 Creighton is possessive and unhinged in the best way. Annika is so sweet and she is one of my favorite FMC's. When her dad said her Not boyfriend I couldn't stop laughing. This book did make me cry at one point and I don't think many people have but I did. This is only the 2nd book to ever make me cry but I love it nonetheless.
3.5 starsIt has officially been over a year since I read this series, so I'm going back to it and adjusting my ratings to be accurate. Was Creighton my favorite? not in the slightest. in fact, he made me so incredibly angry at times. but I enjoyed him more than 2 other mmc's in this series (cough cough killian and jeremy cough cough) so he gets a bit of bonus points there.I did not like the way he treated annika. not one bit. I cant give specific reasons as to why considering I read this book in December of 2024 and it is currently April of 2026 but I remember hating how he treated her. I think its because a lot of the time he just treated her like shit instead of letting her talk or feel. out of every book in the series, this does have my favorite plot line. had I have liked creigh and annikas relationship, this could have been a 5 star for plot alone. however I cannot give a book 5 stars if I hate how the mmc treats the fmc I fear.I could not tell you anything specific that happened with their relationship aside from the scene in the basement (pewpew), the whole end of the book on the island, or the scene where they dance in the rain. I could tell you their whole plot about creighs parents and her parents but their relationship was so utterly unmemorable for me.anything is better than killian though.
