Justin Martyr was a Christian theologian who wrote his Dialogue with Trypho probably somewhere around 157AD. It is framed as a conversation between himself and Trypho, a Jew. Whether Trypho was invented as a literary device or The Dialogue is representative of a real interaction, it is a fascinating insight to early Christian opinion on a range of topics including end times, Scripture, fasting, baptism etc. Justin attempts to show Trypho that Jesus is the Christ and that Christians are the true people of God.
