View AllThis book, for now, is the conclusion of the Demigods of San Francisco universe, closing out with everything in Faerie being resolved.I'll be honest, for much of this book, I just wanted to stay in Faerie. Due to the nature of this book, there are moments when we you are given a third-person POV of the rest of the crew back in the mortal world as they try to follow and save Daisy from Faerie. I wasn't too interested in their storyline, to be honest, more interested in listening to what Daisy was getting up to with Tarian and his Fallen. It was good to get some insight on what they were doing and how close they were getting, also hilarious that poor Mordecai had to experience what he did in one of the safehouses in the Wilds. The Faerie gods are super annoying but I love that Hades pops in to get in on the deal they have going on. That part was funny. Especially when Hades himself stepped in and kind of cheated a bit. Though considering the other gods were cheating in their own ways as well, I'd say he was justified. Again. Hades will always be my favorite character in this universe. He's such a fun character and I enjoy every moment he's on page.I really love Tarian's and Daisy's relationship. They hold no punches with each other, which makes that super easy with Tarian being able to hear her every thought.I really hated the Obsidian King. He is so gross and I hate every moment he is on page, truly. He is absolutely disgusting in his desires and how he speaks to Daisy, knowing Tarian can't do anything to him, regardless of what he does to Daisy. His final moments were so satisfying but what it took out of Daisy made it a really heavy moment to me.I wouldn't mind coming back to this universe again, maybe following another character. I kind of want it to be Dylan but I also don't want to shoehorn him into a relationship with someone. Though it could take place much much further into the future. He does have a lot of trauma and doesn't even accept hugs from the opposite sex very often, which is understandable. After what he went through, I wouldn't be surprised if he remains single forever. But all of these characters, or at least most of them, are immortal, set to live very long lives together. Dylan could be content just being with his found family. But I digress. This series is a good one and I enjoy it a lot. And I sincerely hope that this gets a dramatized version at some point as well.
